September 2018

Congratulations to our September Athletes of the Month!
Estelina Kovacs, Sophomore
Varsity Cross Country
"Estelina has demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment to the varsity cross country program. Estelina's dedication to the sport is clear as she continues to improve in each run. From the two races at Covenant Life in September, she improved her personal best time (29:22) by two minutes. As the varsity cross country program is now in its second season, Estelina is the major reason for our team's growth of runners and support." - Head Coach Randy Shank
Solomon Douglas, Senior
Fall Cheerleading
"Solomon is one of our most spirited cheerleaders. He has been such an encouraging team member who is always respectful of others. Solomon comes to practice every day ready to work hard and goes above and beyond what is asked of him. He has worked hard on improving his jumping techniques and stunt sequences. Solomon's passion for cheerleading shines, whether in practice or on the sidelines." - Head Coach Aneesha Lane
Jason Werner, Senior
Varsity Football
"In September, Jason developed into our new featured back. Against Central Maryland Christian, Jason ran for 197 yards and played a pivotal role in stopping their offense. Jason's highlight play of the month happened in Austin, Texas when he caught the game-winning pass with 8 seconds left on the clock to extend our winning streak against schools for the Deaf to 40 consecutive wins. In addition to his performance on the field, Jason has been very consistent as a team captain." - Head Coach Ryan Bonheyo
Citrine Lummer, Freshman
Varsity Volleyball
"As one of our main passers and go-to hitters, Citrine has worked hard and played with confidence in every volleyball match. In September, she received all-tournament team awards at the Oriole Classic and New Life Classic Volleyball Tournaments. Citrine started off the season with a high percentage of kills, and she currently leads the team in digs." - Head Coach Christine DiMarco
