April 2019

Congratulations to our April Athletes of the Month!
Brody McAfee, Senior
Varsity Baseball

"Brody is in his fourth year playing baseball at MSD. He has never missed a game and is always eager to play. As the team's key pitcher, he started in seven out of fourteen games, winning four of those seven games. He pitched against 160 batters, walking only three and striking out 38. Brody is the fifth batter on our batting lineup with an average of .442. He is always the first person to arrive to practice. Our coaching staff enjoyed having him on the team for the last four years." - Head Coach Chester Kuschmider
Crystal Salit, Sophomore
Varsity Softball

"Crystal has contributed tremendously to our softball program. She played her heart out in every single game and most notably helped us win the Hoy Championship. This year she earned the Hoy Tournament's Most Valuable Player award. Crystal has really stepped up as our team's pitcher, and her hitting and running fundamentals have helped us through each win." - Head Coach Jill Bianco

He also ran in the 800M with a personal best of 2:39.56 and ran for the 3200M relay team that resulted in the third best time amongst National Deaf Prep Tracksters with a time of 9:51.66." - Head Coach Randy Shank
