The Athletics Department is very proud of our student-athletes for winning the Gallaudet Academic Bowl East Regional Championship on Sunday, March 4th.

The team's head coach, Priscilla Biskupiak, is also our high school volleyball assistant coach.
Tyler Glennon was selected to the All-Star team. Cade Patterson received a four-year medal for competing in the academic bowl all four years of high school.
Congratulations to the team and best of luck at the National Academic Bowl Competition on April 14-17 at Gallaudet University.
Congratulations to both MSD Boys and Girls teams for winning MIAC Championship games on Saturday, February 24th at Annapolis Area Christian School.
The boys team (24-5) won their first-ever MIAC (Maryland Indpendent Athletic Conference) championship with a 64-53 victory over #1 seed Mount Airy Christian Academy.
Stefan Anderson and Esteban Kovacs were selected on the all-tournament team and John Werner, Jr. was chosen as the Most Valuable Player.
The girls team (22-5) won their fourth straight MIAC championship with a 49-48 overtime victory over Greater Grace Christian Academy.
Rajena Guettler and Ernelina Beldon were selected on the all-tournament team and Cassidy Perry was chosen as the Most Valuable Player.

On Saturday, February 10th, our MSD cheerleading team won first place at the ESDAA Cheerleading tournament at WPSD. This is their second straight title under Head Coach Aneesha Lane and Assistant Coach Roxanna Rocha.
The team also won first place award for best Creative Movement. Carina Traina won first place in Individual Jump competition.
Thalia Guettler and Freya Seremeth were selected on the All Tournament team.

After competing in the Regional Qualifiers Tournament as the No. 1 seeds, Jayden Orsi-Pedersen, fifth grader, and Paul Fitzpatrick IV, third grader, were qualified to participate in the Maryland State Championship Tournament on the weekend of February 10 and 11. Jayden won the state wrestling title in the U-10 85-pound weight class bracket. Paul took to the mat and won the state championship in the U-8 60-pound weight class bracket. Paul was also named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. Congratulations to Jayden and Paul! 👏
MSD wrestling team won third place at the annual MAWL (Mid-Atlantic Wrestling League) tournament on Saturday February 3rd.

On Saturday January 27th, our high school cheerleading team went to George Washington University girls basketball game and they signed the National Anthem. What is more, the cheerleaders participated in the Winter Cheer Explosion Invitational at Thomas Johnson High School on Saturday, February 3rd. They competed against 14 other schools and finished third place in the JV Division. It was a rewarding experience for both cheerleaders and coaches. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Cassidy Perry for scoring her 1,000th career point on Thursday, January 25th against Open Bible Christian School. She became 11th girl in MSD history to reach this milestone.

Congratulations to John Werner, Jr. for scoring his 1,000th career point on Friday, January 12th during Clerc Classic semifinals against California-Riverside. He became 16th boy in MSD history to reach this milestone.
MSD won its back-to-back Special Olympics Flag Football State Championship. The Games were held at Mount St. Mary's University, and the Orioles came out victorious, defeating Washington County, 55-20, and Baltimore County, 32-14. Student-athlete Justin Burke was selected to represent Frederick County at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony.
