Track & Field Teams Earn Top Post-Season Honors & Accolades

MSD’s Varsity Girls Track & Field team has been selected as the 2022 USADTF/NDIAA Division I Team of the Year!‬ The Orioles had a tremendous year with several top two individual and team finishes nationwide, earning 134.5 team points this season.
 
The 800m Relay Team featuring team members Citrine Lummer ('22), Sigridura Junc, Chelsea Iyere ('22), and Arabella Bielucke, had the fastest time in the nation this season with a time of 2:00.92.
 
Zivia Gale finished second in the shot put with 31'10.5" and in the discus with 89'2". Sigridura Junc earned second finishes in the long jump with 15'0" and in the triple jump with 31'4". Sierra Herzig-Wilcox (‘22) earned a second-place finish with 18.29 in the 100m high hurdles event.
 
Citrine Lummer (‘22) was selected as the Female Field Athlete of the Year by USADTF/NDIAA. This season, Citrine Lummer finished first nationally in the long jump (15'1"), triple jump (34'5"), and high jump (4'8") events and placed second in the 200m dash event with a time of 28.75.
 
Coach Randy Shank led MSD’s varsity girls track & field program to its ninth national title and was named the 2022 USADTF/NDIAA Girls Track & Field Coach of the Year. This is Coach Shank’s fourth Coach of the Year award.
 
Five student-athletes were selected to the USADTF/NDIAA All-American team. Citrine Lummer ('22) was named an All-American in three categories after finishing first in long jump, triple jump, and high jump. MSD's 3200m Relay team featuring members Antoinette Dromo, Chelsea Iyere ('22), Sierra Herzig-Wilcox ('22), and Sigridura Junc also earned All-American honors.
 
The girls' track and field team also had five members with honorable mention recognition: Citrine Lummer (200m), Antoinette Dromo (3200m), Sierra Herzig-Wilcox (100m Hurdles), Sigridura Junc (Long Jump and Triple Jump), and Zivia Gale (Shot Put and Discus).
 
Boys Track & Field
Ethan Sheppeck (‘22) has been tabbed for the 2022 USADTF/NDIAA Male Field Athlete of the Year award. This season, Ethan Sheppeck earned a first place finish in the nation in the high jump event with a jump of 5'11". Ethan also placed fifth in the long jump (19'8") and shot put (35'1"), and finished seventh in the triple jump event at 39'7". Ethan Sheppeck also earned All-American recognition in the High Jump.
 
Nathan Sheppeck (Triple Jump) and MSD's 800m Relay team of Rocco Bauer, Ethan Guettler, Jayden Orsi-Pedersen, and Ian Guettler received honorable mention recognition.
 
Varsity Baseball
NDIAA has named Tyler Dees, Zeke Ortiz, and Ethan Sheppeck ('22) First-Team All-Americans. Nathan Sheppeck earned honorable mention recognition.
 
Varsity Softball
Truly Austin, Olivia Clinger, and Citrine Lummer were named NDIAA First-Team All-Americans. Lillian Froehle received Honorable Mention recognition.
