Varsity Volleyball Earns MIAC Title

MSD volleyball made its mark at the Maryland Independent Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships on Saturday, October 18, hosted at Greater Grace Christian Academy, with both JV and varsity teams turning in standout performances.

The JV team capped off a strong conference season with a trip to the championship match, earning the MIAC runner-up title after a competitive contest against Mount Airy Christian Academy (19-25, 22-25). Freshmen Yeili Hernandez Marquez and Arella Humpal were recognized for their efforts with All-Tournament Team honors.

The varsity team secured a 3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-22) victory over Covenant Life School to capture the MIAC championship title—the program's fourth overall and first since 2018. Sophomore Maliyah Coleman received Tournament MVP recognition, with sophomore Rita Virnig and freshman Nikita Dzougoutov also earning spots on the All-Tournament Team.

Congratulations to the JV and varsity teams, and to their coaches, on an exceptional conference season!
